Advancing your children! Six weeks – 12 years of age!

A Typical Day At Kids Of Covenant!

At K.O.C. We use an in house developed curriculum which uses a hands on approach to teaching and learning and includes faith based bible stories and lessons!

As teachers, parents, and educational researchers have discovered, having a solid curriculum not only helps young children excel in language and cognitive learning but also promotes independence, curiosity, decision-making, cooperation, persistence, creativity, and problem solving — the fundamental skills that help determine success in adult life.  Our lesson plans are posted in each classroom and are available to parents each week!

Center Time or Free Play

We believe that children learn through play! During this time, children choose from a variety of activities, including water/rice tables, Play dough, blocks, books, creative art, dramatic play, science and nature, puzzles, puppets and games!

(self direction, choice, imagination, problem solving)

Story Time

We read and share a viarity of stories relating to the theme or letter of the day!

(Listening, attention, language, literacy)

Circle/Music Time

Different experiences during this fun time include active and quiet songs, guest musicians, finger play and instruments. The children also learn their ABC’s, Numbers 1-20, Colors, Shapes, Days of the week, months of the year and all about the weather.

(Unity, movement, memory, expression, cognitive development)

Table Time/Art Project

This provides language opportunities such as talking about the calendar or sharing thoughts with classmates. A daily art project linked to the theme or letter of the week allows the children to mature in their fine motor skills and their creative expression.

(Sharing, following directions, fine motor skills)

Meal Times

As children enjoy Breakfast, Lunch or Snack time they practice table manners as well as develop social skills by communicating with their peers all while eating a nutritious meal!

(Socialization, responsibility, nutrition, manners)

Quiet/Book Time

Quiet time allows each child to rest and reflect on their morning of learning. They are allowed to sleep on their mats, read a book or put together a puzzle.

(Language, imagination, health, discovery.)

Outside Play

Each day children enjoy our exciting out door play area where they continue developing social skills and gross motor skills! We also have an indoor play area for when the weather doesn’t permit outside play!

(Gross motor skills, movement, socialization, health)
